1,053 days without accident

From day one back in 2007, our main focus in our manufacturing plant here in Darnall, Sheffield is the health and safety of each and every one of the Diamond team.
As such, we’re extremely proud of our health and safety record over the years and, as at 21st June we stand at 1,053 Accident Free Days. This result is down to the ongoing commitment to and training of every member of the team to ensure they are up to date with health and safety legislation, processes and delivering very best practice throughout the workplace on a daily basis.

MEP picks Diamond for pro-EU campaign launch

We were delighted to welcome Linda McAvan, Labour MEP for Yorkshire and the Humber, to the factory last week as she launched ‘Britain Stronger in Europe’, the main cross-party pro-EU organisation campaigning for Britain to remain in the European Union.
The campaign will engage voters and volunteers across Yorkshire and the Humber, building a grassroots movement to take the argument that Britain is stronger, safer and better off in Europe to all parts of the region.

Sheffield Business Award winners!

We found out the other week that we’d been shortlisted in two categories in this year’s Sheffield Business Awards – High Growth and Exporter of the Year. So, on Thursday 3rd December, Peter and Sue donned their best bib and tucker and set off to the glitzy awards ceremony along with hundreds of other Sheffield companies.

We headed up to Harrogate the other day for the Yorkshire & Humber regional EEF Future Manufacturing Awards 2015 and met some fantastic fellow manufacturers and exporters. After lunch (sausages and mash, proper Yorkshire food!), the winners were announced. Although we didn’t make the top spot, we’re delighted to say that Diamond Dispersions was named as ‘runner-up’ in the Outstanding Export category. Delivery for record growth!

To mill our world famous, super-fine pigments and non-dispersible dyes down to a nanometric scale, we rely on some of the best equipment on the market. And, since we’re experiencing record growth, our existing mills reached capacity over the summer so we invested in a few more to enable us to meet demand.

If you’ve ever phoned us or popped into our office, chances are you’ll have spoken with and met the inimitable Sue Blakeman.

Organised by IMI Europe and supported by InPrint, the Industrial Print Show, we were delighted to be invited to attend the Industrial Ink Jet Technology Showcase that took place in Munich at the end of June.

An MChem Chemistry student from The University of Sheffield is helping us to solve complex chemical puzzles as part of her internship here at Diamond Dispersions.
Shannon North, 20, hails from Bedfordshire and joined the team for a 12 month long work placement at the end of August.
